Some Pics From Life in Hills of Himachal Pradesh

  1. Asian Pears ( Nashpati)

It was Nashpati season, so I took this pic. We eat very little of these in our village. They are in abundance. If you ever come to Himachal, visit any village, and you will get to eat a lot of fruits without any cost.
One suggestion “Do not eat Apples with their skin on. People usually say that you should not peel the apple before eating, but the amount of pesticides used is very heavy to sustain the growth of apple”. That is advice I get from apple growers.

2. Colorful Delight

All functions end with a regional feast. Rice with six to seven dishes served. Food is usually served on pattal (plate made from leaves)Patravali - Wikipedia
. But here it was missing due to nonavailability so we used paper plates and paper cups.

3. Kachnaar

Have you ever heard this song “main to kachi kali hu kachnar zara sa khil jane de”.

This is kachnaar, collected fresh from big trees. If you do not know, this is used as food for making sabji. Kachnaar Pickle is delicious and healthy as well. The best I like to eat is kachnaar Raita made from its flowers. It's a blessing for your guts also.

4. Our School Kids

When I see kids, only one question comes to my mind “इतनी एनर्जी आती कहाँ से है |.”

5. Anthill with the pine tree, from where pine tree sap is extracted, few cuts at the bottom side and sap will start coming out, and that is collected in a conical shape container. Pine Tree Sap Season: Pine Tree Sap Uses And Information

6. Porcupine thorns

These are porcupine thorns, and they can kill a tiger, as I read in one of the answers on quora. This is indeed true. These are very sharp, pin-pointed very hard.

7. Something from roadside

"my precious"

8. Our PEST Controller

Finally, that’s our Personal pest controller. They keep patrolling our near home region with unmatched stealth capabilities for unwanted intruders and keep them under control. They remain very calm, never harms anyone, never heard of any incident. But our elders used to tell us that, don’t go here and there otherwise they won't spare your leg, just to keep us in their sight.

“GO” we call them, it's not that “go” from the English Language, but their name is “GO.”
